Same Shit, Different Camera

This camera was built at Kodak Canada in Toronto between 1909 and 1915 making it well over 30 years old.

3D printed film gate and spacers completed. Inside back repainted. Lens serviced and cleaned. Looks pretty good. Bellows appear to be light tight. The mirror in the finder absolutely needed to be replaced. It was very easy to do as it’s a second surface mirror. Used a red gel to replace the red window that had basically disintegrated.

The original mirror reflects nothing! I cut the replacement from a dollar store mirror I bought for $1.75. Quite a difference.

The camera is completely functional now.

The numbers on the backing paper are just barely visible through the red window; they are half cut off. Exposure numbers work exactly the same as the Kodak Junior Six-16 Series II since they now both use 120 film.

  • 3, 5½ ,8, 10½, 13, 15½ (The halves being the large dot)

It has a fixed focus lens, and the f stops are

  1. f/11
  2. f/16
  3. f/22
  4. f/32

First light here.
