This Graflex Speed Graphic 4×5 Large Format Press Camera w/ Optar 135mm F4.7 Lens is in good condition. Minor all around wear, dust, minor paint chipping/toning & green residue on the tripod socket. Metal has minor toning.
Cleaned all of the corrosion. There was A LOT of corrosion. At first I thought it was zinc pest, but fortunately that wasn’t the case. Touched up the leather. Redyed the strap.
Shutter works on T, B, & speeds 25-400, but sticks open on slow speeds 1 through 10. Solenoid is missing.
Cleaned glass surfaces, serviced shutter, and all speeds working now.
The rangefinder works & is aligned. Appears to be missing the back of the Kalart focuspot.
The Rangefinder was slightly out of horizontal alignment, and just needed a minor adjustment. Replaced the missing bulb holder with a 3D printed LED holder using an A23 battery and switch. I will likely never use it, so I also 3D printed a blank plug.
Top finder has stuck focusing & does not work.
Removed the finder and cleaned all corrosion. Cleaned the lens and it now works properly
The front door is loose and the latch does not stay shut when pulled.
The door not staying closed was a simple matter of replacing the missing screw as seen below. The screw was loose inside the camera body.
Lubricated and adjusted the shutter cable which was very stiff. Cleaned the ground glass.
